“Every time we choose safety, we reinforce fear.” (Cheri Huber)
This isn't the first time I have spoken about fear, and it won't be the last. And that's because it continues to play a huge part in so many people's lives. They allow fear to control them and therefor they don't do all that they could, they limit their lives.
If I look at my own journey I too was scared when I first looked at Forever. What would people think of me? What if I failed? What if people laugh at me? The thought of so much change was scary, after all I was comfortable doing what I knew, even if it wasn't giving me and my family everything that I had always wanted.
But there was one thing that I feared more than all of that, and that was what would my life be like in thirty years time if I didn't make a change? What would it be like if I kept doing the same as I had done for the past ten years. The fear of not living the life I wanted to live, the life that I had kept inside as a secret for so long, that was more powerful than anything else.
I knew that when I saw Forever that it could give me everything that I had always dreamt of, and so much more. And that's when I made a decision to move past my fears and embrace change, knowing that not everyone would understand, that I would make mistakes along the way, that it wouldn't always be easy, but it would always be worth it.
Today I still have my fears, just because people become successful it doesn't mean that they are fearless, it simply means they become better at dealing with fear and learn to use it as a positive emotion. So let fear inspire you to achieve more in life, instead of allowing it to hold you back and limit what you do with your time in the world.
